We Cannot Remain Silent

First Words

A PROMISE

For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet, Until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, And her salvation like a torch that is burning. – Isaiah 62:1

And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed. – Genesis 12:3

A PEOPLE

You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, And a royal diadem in the hand of your God. – Isaiah 62:3

And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so, you shall be a blessing; -Genesis 12:2

A PLACE

It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken,” Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate”; But you will be called, “My delight is in her,” And your land, “Married”; For the LORD delights in you, And to Him your land will be married. – Isaiah 62:4

On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates. – Genesis 5:18

A PRAYER

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the LORD, take no rest for yourselves; And give Him no rest until He establishes; And makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. – Isaiah 62:6-7

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you… – Psalm 122:6

PRAYER POINTS

1. Prayer for the hostages and their families: “Behold, the Lord’s and is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear.” (Isaiah 59:1)

2. Prayer for the Israeli soldiers (IDF): “Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:4)

3. Prayer for the government and leaders of Israel: “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” (1 Timothy 2:1–2)

4. Prayer for the safety of Israeli and Palestinian citizens: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

5. Prayer for the safety of the Jewish community around the world against acts of antisemitism: “The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” (Psalm 9:9)

A PROCLAMATION

Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the earth, Say to the daughter of Zion, “Lo, your salvation comes; Behold His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.” – Isaiah 62:11

I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous. – Romans 11:11
